Webinar: Bat conservation and artificial light

In this one-day webinar, the participants will learn how bats respond directly to different lighting sources, light colours and brightness, how they are indirectly influenced through their prey (mainly insects) and how the mostly negative impact of artificial light on bats can be avoided or mitigated. Auf der Veranstaltung werden Ergebnisse des vom Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr geförderten Projekts “Entwicklung eines Fledermausfreundlichen adaptiven Beleuchtungskonzepts für Fahrradwege” vorgestellt sowie andere Projekte zum Thema Fledermausschutz und Beleuchtung präsentiert. Biodiversität als Basis für eine nachhaltige Windenergieproduktion im Wald
ONLINE-WORKSHOP / DIGITALE PROJEKT-ABSCHLUSSVERANSTALTUNG
Abschlussveranstaltung eines DBU-Projekts der Philipps-Universität Marburg in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Leibniz-Institut für Zoo- und Wildtierforschung und der Universität Leipzig. Ziel des Workshops ist es, aktuelle Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse aus verschiedenen Forschungsprojekten zusammenzutragen, welche sich mit den Einflüssen von Windenergieproduktion im Wald auf die Biodiversität (Fokus: Vögel und Fledermäuse) und mit den sozioökonomischen Herausforderungen des WEA-Ausbaus beschäftigen. In diesem eintägigen Webinar erfahren die Teilnehmenden, wie Fledermäuse auf unterschiedliche Beleuchtungsquellen, Lichtfarben und Helligkeiten reagieren, wie sie indirekt über ihre Nahrung (v.a. Fledermausschutz und künstliches Licht

Fledermäuse reagieren empfindlich auf künstliches Licht. Da durch Außenbeleuchtungen sowohl Lebensräume als auch Quartiere von Fledermäusen potenziell durch künstliches Licht negativ beeinflusst werden können, muss der Fledermausschutz in Genehmigungsverfahren für Beleuchtungsprojekte berücksichtigt werden.

Bats are sensitive to artificial light. Since both habitats and roosts of bats can potentially be affected by artificial light through outdoor lighting, the conservation of bats must be considered in approval procedures for lighting projects.
